Upward Bound Scholars Experience College Life at Open House

Our Upward Bound students took an exciting step toward their futures with a visit to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Open House! From the moment we stepped onto campus, the energy was inspiring filled with opportunity, ambition, and the promise of what’s ahead.
Students had the chance to tour the campus, explore academic programs, and connect with faculty, staff, and current college students. They asked meaningful questions about majors, student life, financial aid, and what it truly takes to succeed in college. For many, this visit made their college dreams feel more real and attainable.
One of the highlights of the trip was experiencing the welcoming environment at UNCG. Our scholars were able to envision themselves walking those same paths, sitting in those classrooms, and becoming part of a vibrant college community. Moments like these are exactly why Upward Bound exists—to expose students to new opportunities and help them see beyond their current circumstances.
We are incredibly proud of our students for stepping outside their comfort zones, staying engaged throughout the visit, and representing our program with excellence. This is only the beginning of their journey, and we can’t wait to see where their hard work and determination will take them.
