This week in the Partners In Ministry Y.E.S. Mentor Program, our students took learning to new heights—literally and figuratively! Through a fun, hands-on STEM activity, participants designed and built their very own LEGO spaceships. From brainstorming creative designs to working through challenges during construction, students sharpened their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and imagination.
But the learning didn’t stop with STEM.
Alongside building their spaceships, students engaged in a meaningful discussion about compassion—what it means, why it matters, and how we can show it every day. They explored simple yet powerful ways to share compassion with others, whether through kind words, helping a friend, listening with empathy, or including others.
By combining creativity with character-building, the activity helped students understand that just like building a strong spaceship requires care and attention, building a strong community requires compassion and kindness.
At PIM, we are proud to nurture both the minds and hearts of our youth—preparing them not only for future careers, but for meaningful lives rooted in empathy and service.
Together, we are building brighter futures—one lesson at a time.
