in struggling communities and
building and sustaining healthy communities.

PARTNERS IN MINISTRY’S PURPOSE

PIM’s PURPOSE is
to nurture, equip, and unlock the potential of youth and children and
to empower and strengthen families to become self-sufficient and change
agents for their own communities as we all work together to build and sustain healthy communities.

Who We Are

Partners In Ministry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth, families, and adults in Richmond, Scotland, and Robeson Counties. Our programs provide enrichment and support to the communities we serve by focusing on three key areas:

  • Youth and Young Adult Ministry
  • Housing and Home Repair Ministry
  • Community Resource and Referral Ministry

Through our programs, we partner with community organizations and local churches to provide access to education, young adult mentoring, urgent home repairs, and referrals to additional community services and support. Additionally, we oversee several programs dedicated to empowering the communities we serve.

Partners In Ministry is a National Mission Institution and has served the community for over 12 years. Through our programs, 4,679 young adults have graduated through Youth Empowered to Succeed (YES) programs (proving a 100% success rate in achieving one of its goals). We have deployed over 353 mission teams to provide urgent home repairs to impoverished housing, and more than 3,500 families have been served through our food pantry.
Partners In Ministry’s volunteers have donated over 16,000 hours to support our programs.

In 2019, Partners In Ministry launched its first capital campaign allowing our organization to expand its services to the community. Our aim is to expand our campus to welcome our ever-growing communities. Partners In Ministry is seeking to build a multi-purpose building on the grounds, including a gymnatorium, youth center, counseling suites, and technological updates to our computer lab. We believe that we are changing lives for good, and one central center to collect our services is integral to making this happen.

Our Leadership Team

Dr. Melba McCallum, Executive Director

Partners In Ministry was born from a vision of service by Dr. Melba McCallum, a Deaconess with the United Methodist Church. Recognizing the need to connect many of the local churches with individuals and families to help address the issues of poverty in her community, Dr. McCallum had a vision. Partners In Ministry was created in her home living room in 2007. Now, Partners In Ministry is a growing and thriving ministry that serves Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland Counties.
