Rev. Anna Troy has joined the staff of Partners In Ministry in Laurinburg, NC, as the Outreach Coordinator. She comes to this ministry as a Church and Community Worker with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church. As a CCW, her work as Outreach Coordinator will address the social inequities of poverty, racial injustice, violence, and economic and environmental issues. As their name implies, the CCW’s take the church into the community and bring the community into the church. Workers normally serve in a project between 6 and 10 years.

Anna Troy

Rev. Troy’s journey to North Carolina has been filled with a variety of service ministries. She has served as a missionary in Cookson, Oklahoma, and in San Jose, Costa Rica. Upon her return to the US from Costa Rica, she began her master’s education at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, TX, graduating with a Master of Arts in Christian Service. Rev. Troy will also be ordained a Deacon in the UMC this June in the Rio Texas Conference, her home conference. As a Deacon, she is called to be a bridge between the church and the world. This calling has led her to become a Church and Community Worker here in North Carolina.

Anna’s father is also an ordained Elder in the UMC and will be retiring from ministry this June after 26 years. Her mother has also served as a local pastor and in various other church roles, most centered around Christian Education. Her younger sister received a Master of Fine Arts and currently teaches art in an elementary school in Bryan, TX. Anna is a born and raised Texan with a love of travel, dancing, and serving God’s people however she can. She is very excited for this new opportunity and becoming part of the Partners In Ministry family.
